About the Role
As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s IT infrastructure, sensitive data, and digital assets against cyber threats. This position requires a proactive professional who can monitor security systems, identify vulnerabilities, and respond to incidents while ensuring compliance with Canadian regulatory standards and global security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security systems, networks, and applications to detect and mitigate threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and resolve security weaknesses.
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including analyzing root causes and implementing solutions.
- Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on cybersecurity best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to strengthen defenses.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
About You
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Master’s program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s program enrollment or completion is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and threat analysis.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools, such as SIEM platforms, firewalls, and vulnerability management tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and cybersecurity frameworks applicable to Canada.
- Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls is a strong asset.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex security challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or other relevant credentials are a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
